Matthew B. Roberts is a writer and producer for the Outlander television adaptation. He is the president of No Fooling Productions, Inc.


After college, Roberts worked as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in Los Angeles and started a company with his brother, a Los Angeles County firefighter, providing emergency medical and safety teams to the film and television business.

Roberts began his television career in various production offices, eventually getting hired as an assistant to Carol Flint and landing a position as a Researcher for NBC's long-running procedural drama Law & Order. Roberts moved on to a writing position for SyFy Network's Battlestar Galactica prequel Caprica, working for Ronald D. Moore.

After Caprica ended, Roberts moved on to Hellcats for Warner Brothers Television before re-teaming with Ron Moore's Tall Ship Productions on the western-themed pilot Hangtown for ABC, as well as developing several other projects.[1]
