The Outlander series tells the story of Claire Randall, a nurse from the 20th century, who travels back in time to the 18th century and meets a Scottish Highlander named Jamie Fraser. Historical Fiction at its best, this is a must-read 7-part (and growing!) series.

- STARZ and Sony Pictures have partnered to develop the Outlander Series into a cable-TV series (as with “True Blood” and “Game of Thrones”). The project was officially green-lit on June 1, 2013, and 16 episodes have been ordered. Well-known showrunner/scriptwriter Ron D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica) is working on the adaptation.
